You can buy the fantastic Trentemøller – The Digital Chronicles on iTunes.
High energy music is always great for coding. It’s not too distracting because it’s usually instrumental and fairly repetitive, but it gets you ramped up and ready to get some work done (especially when paired with a few cups of coffee).
When it comes to Benny Benassi you can’t go wrong with Hypnotica or any “Best Of” album. Lately though I’ve been listening to a bootleg recording of Benassi live at WMC Juicy Beach (Miami) in 2008. It’s just shy of an hour and one of the best techno/house/dance mixes I’ve ever heard. It just doesn’t let up.
If you can find yourself a copy I would highly recommend it.
A big thanks to Drew “Rukes” Ressler for the fantastic photo.
So I’m stealing a great idea from the folks over at The Code Dojo and starting a series of “Music For Coding” posts. I thought it would be a fun change of pace and I loved the idea!
My favorite album right now has to be “Soon It Will Be Cold Enough” by Emancipator. It’s super mellow but has a lot of energy to it. It’s mostly instrumental, but there are some vocal samples in there too.
I would characterize it as “Trip-Hop,” but it’s probably more cross genre.
My roommates and I will actually be seeing Emancipator open for Bonobo in Portland on June 21st at the Roseland. Maybe I’ll see some of you there!
